Co-working communities

Cape Town has many co-working spaces, with meeting rooms, cafes, and shared communal spaces; some even with a production studio. Most cafes offer free wifi. The co-working community is vibrant, happening, and a great way to get to know new friends across the world. You'll also benefit from a Europe-friendly timezone.

The city

A lot is happening outdoors in this city: in the morning many locals exercise by walking, jogging, skateboarding or cycling. Throughout the day and evening, you can find the crowds on the terraces and patios of the local bars and cafes, or visiting Woodstock's art galleries and Kloof Street's artisan and design stores. On top of all this, Cape Town is also a foodie capital, with an incredible gourmet scene to explore.

Around Cape Town

Cape Town has warm temperatures and blue skies until around May, meaning each weekend is a perfect opportunity for outdoor exploration. You can hike or bike ride in the nearby mountains, and climb and abseil at Table Mountain. Plenty of waves hit the shores in April and May, with Muizenberg being a great spot to surf. Elite kitesurfers also train here for a reason: wind conditions are often excellent.

There's also the chance to aquarium dive in a kelp forest or visit the Winelands, a one-hour drive away from the city, for wine tasting and picnicking in a picturesque vineyard. Constantia Valley has wine estates right next to Cape Town too, just a 10-minute drive away.
